Women for Faith & Family Affiliate
Charter given by Women for Faith & Family, P.O. Box 300411, St. Louis, MO, 63130, hereinafter described as WFF, to the ________________ associate group, to be known as Women for Faith & Family - ________________, hereinafter described as Affiliate.
1. This Charter is the organizing document of the Affiliate as prescribed in IRS Rev. Proc. 80-27. The Affiliate agrees to advance the principles and objectives of WFF in __________________ (location) by such means as to the Affiliate seem reasonable, providing it conforms to the policies and purposes of WFF, the principles stated in the Affirmation for Catholic Women, and the terms of this Charter.
2. WFF authorizes the Affiliate to use the name "Women for Faith & Family - _______________________________________________________________".
The Affiliate's authorization to use the name "Women for Faith & Family", the acronym "WFF" and the WFF logo, along with this charter and the Affiliate's status as an Affiliate are dependent on fulfillment of the terms outlined in this charter and are revocable at the entire discretion of WFF.3. All women members of an Affiliate group shall be Catholics who have signed the Affirmation for Catholic Women as a condition of membership. Catholic men (e.g., clergy advisors) associated with the Affiliate group shall agree to the principles stated in the Affirmation for Catholic Women.
a) WFF agrees to supply the Affiliate with the current list of supporters or signers of the Affirmation for Catholic Women in the Affiliate's area for purposes of organization.
b) The Affiliate will provide its membership and mailing lists to WFF for the use of WFF.4. The Affiliate and each of its individual members subscribes to, and agrees to promote the purposes of WFF, which are:
1) To assist orthodox Catholic women in their effort to provide witness to their faith, both to their families and to the world;
2) To aid women in their efforts to deepen their understanding of the Catholic faith;
3) To aid faithful Catholic women in their desire for fellowship and prayer with others who share their faith and commitment;
4) To serve as a channel through which questions from Catholic women seeking guidance or information can be directed.5. The Affiliate shall provide written notification to WFF at least thirty [30] days in advance of all public activities (other than regular local meetings) to be conducted by the Affiliate. No proposed activity of the Affiliate shall be conducted if WFF disapproves that activity. The Affiliate is also entitled to consultation with WFF for suggestions about programs and activities.
6. No Affiliate group nor individual member of an Affiliate group shall in the name of WFF speak or write to express opinions of a political nature or to challenge Church authorities on any matter unless the following conditions are met in advance of any such statement:
a) If the Affiliate or individual member of the Affiliate group believes the WFF name should be used in responding to a particular local situation, prior consultation with WFF officials in writing and/or by telephone is necessary to secure advance approval and authorization for such statement.
b) The Affiliate's statements, or those of any individual member of the Affiliate group, must be consistent with WFF's official statements and policies.
c) WFF does not engage in lobbying in support of political candidates.NOTE: Unauthorized statements made in the name of WFF may result in immediate revocation of this charter, entirely at the discretion of WFF.
7. Selection of officers of the Affiliate shall take place at the discretion of the Affiliate group, subject to its by-laws, which will conform to the norm for the State in which it may be incorporated. Staff of the Affiliate will normally be volunteer.
8. The Affiliate is entitled to receive without charge from WFF at least ten copies of each edition of VOICES and of all pamphlets that may be produced from time to time by WFF, and at least one copy of any books that may be published by WFF.9. The Affiliate will submit annual reports on its membership and activities to WFF by March 1 of each year.
10. The Affiliate will be responsible for all expenses involved in conducting its activities and may retain all profits therefrom for the purpose of providing continuing support for the activities of the Affiliate.
a) The Affiliate shall make its own filing for tax-exempt status in the State in which its principal office is located. Copies of such filings are to be sent to the WFF office.
b) The Affiliate shall have the right to sell or otherwise dispose of tapes and transcripts of programs it conducts, provided that WFF shall also have the right to sell or dispose of such tapes or transcripts, and that no other person or group shall be authorized by the Affiliate to sell or dispose of such materials without the prior approval of WFF.
c) The Affiliate shall submit to WFF copies of tapes and printed material from special programs and activities it conducts, as well as copies of any news releases, advertisements, etc. issued by the Affiliate.
d) The receipts of the Affiliate may be derived from voluntary contributions and donations, admissions to programs and other events conducted by the Affiliate; and from the sale of books, pamphlets, tapes, or other materials that are consistent with the Purposes of WFF.12. The Affiliate will accept such amendments to this Charter as may be deemed necessary by WFF.
